Oct 14 - Wal-Mart to Stop Using Plastic Bags in 3 Northern California Stores
Wal-Mart will stop distributing plastic bags at three Northern California stores as part of a pilot program. Wal-Mart stores in Folsom, Citrus Heights and Ukiah will soon cease distribution of plastic bags. Instead, shoppers will be able to chose between a light plastic bag for 15 cents or a heavier reusable bag for 50 cents.
Wal-Mart, the world's biggest retailer, will consider expanding the program to other stores depending on results.
