Jan 7 - Margo Brown Appointed Chief Deputy of CalRecycle
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has appointed former CIWMB Chair Margo Brown to be Chief Deputy (and acting director) of the Department of Resources, Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle). Created as part of last year’s budget deal, CalRecycle is a new department that will be responsible for managing the programs previously administered by the California Integrated Waste Management Board and the Department of Conservation’s Division of Recycling.
Governor Schwarzenegger also announced that former CIWMB Chief Counsel Elliot Block will continue to serve as Chief Counsel in the new department. Lisa Macumber will serve as Deputy Director of Legislative Affairs, and Alicia McGee has been appointed the Communications Director.
