May 22 - Attn LA Residents: Ask Your Council Member To Vote For Bag Ban Tomorrow

Share

The City of Los Angeles could become the next, and even more importantly, the largest city to ban plastic bags. Tomorrow morning the council will hold a hearing on a single-use bag ordinance.

With roughly 3.8 million residents, LA's adoption would add 10% more of our state's population to the number covered under a plastic bag ban. Currently 48 local ordinances have been adopted.

Plastic bags are harmful to our environment and our economy.

LA residents, take action here and urge your city council members to support the plastic bag ban tomorrow. You can also call your council member directly--contact information is available on the City Council website.

You can support the ordinance at tomorrow's rally and hearing at City Hall starting at 9 am. Find out more and watch a video with special messages from Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Amy Smart, and others.
