May 22 - Santa Clara County Takes Lead and Moves Forward on EPS Ban

Share

Congrats to the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, who earlier today approved the introduction of an expanded polystyrene (eps) food container ban.

The ordinance, which would go into effect on February 1, 2013 in unincorporated County areas, still requires a second reading and adoption.

Last year, the County's Recycling and Waste Reduction Commission, an advisory group to the County and its Cities, recommended the consideration and/or adoption of an eps food container ban by this July. We're pleased to see the County's leadership in following through with this recommendation in a timely manner.
