Apr 3 - City of Palm Springs Adopts Bag Ban, #105
Yesterday evening the City of Palm Springs formally adopted a bag ordinance. Last month, the council had given its initial approval when the language was first introduced.
Starting this November, plastic grocery bags will no longer be distributed in supermarkets and drugstores like CVS and Walgreens within city limits. By next May, all other stores will follow suit. Paper grocery bags can still be sold for ten cents each.
There are now 76 local bag ordinances adopted in California, which cover 105 cities or counties. See the full list.
