Roy Swanson, Membership Outreach Coordinator (he/him/his)
While a student, Roy initially began work with CAW in 1988 fundraising and advocating for the passage of legislation including the landmark AB 939 (The Integrated Waste Management Act). After leaving in CAW 1993 to work on wilderness and river preservation, he returned to the organization in 1996. Roy currently serves as Membership Outreach Coordinator where he continues to fundraise and advocate for the passage of recycling and waste reduction legislation.
Roy received a Bachelors degree in Psychology from CSU Sacramento in 1991. He continued his studies at CSUS completing extensive work toward a Master’s degree in Outdoor Recreation Administration with a focus on recourse management.
Roy has been and avid wilderness backpacker for most of his life and also enjoys cycling, music, art, cinema and cooking.
