Aug 3 - Campaign for Healthy Soils in California
Kiss The Ground have teamed up with Jason Mraz to create a short video call The Soil Story, which explains the importance of building healthy soils by composting.
The soil is the largest storehouse of carbon on land. Several major mainstream management practices in agriculture degrade soil carbon and release greenhouse gas emissions. It is estimated that the world’s cultivated soils have lost between 50 and 70 percent of their original carbon stock, much of which has oxidized upon exposure to air to become CO2. However. scientists have recently discovered that applying a thin layer of compost, can set up an ongoing positive feedback loop that brings more and more carbon into the soil each year.
Building healthy soil can help sequester carbon and stabilize our climate. Please watch this short video, share it, and sign the petition!
