Mar 28 - Assembly Committee Passes CAW Sponsored Toxic Phase Out Legislation

The Assembly Natural Resources Committee today adopted CAW sponsored AB 2202, by Assembly Member Lori Saldana (D- San Diego). The measure is aimed at reducing the use of toxic materials in consumer electronics.

AB 2202 builds on the European Union ROHS directive, and would prohibit the sale of electronic devices in California that can not be sold in Europe due to the presence of toxic materials.

The measure is expected to be heard in the Assembly Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials Committee on April 18.
