May 19 - Governor Schwarzenegger Appoints Linda Adams Environmental Secretary

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger today appointed Linda Adams, a former aide to Democratic Governor Gray Davis, to serve as head of the California Environmental Protection Agency.

Adams, currently a member of the Central Valley Regional Water Control Board, has a long history in state government. She served as Legislative Secretary under former Governor Gray Davis where she was instrumental in sheperding through a number of significant environmental protection measures, including the State's Green House Gas Reduction bill, and CAW sponsored legislation to expand the bottle and can recycling law, and enact the nation's first e-waste recycling law.
