Nov 8 - Political Sea Change largely bypasses California

Thanks to gerrymandered legislative districts, the Democratic wave that swept the country on Tuesday has had virtually no effect on California politics. The State Assembly will remain 48 Democrats and 32 Republicans. The State Senate currently stands at 24 Democrats and 15 Republicans, with one race still outstanding. Republican Lynn Daucher (19% Enviro voting record), currently leads Democrat Lou Correa (90% Enviro voting record), by 138 votes out of nearly 80,000 cast in the 34th Senate District. If Daucher prevails, that will be a pick up for the Republicans.
