Jan 10 - Gov's State of the State Highlights Global Warming

On Tuesday, Gov. Schwarzenegger called for further work on reducing greenhouse gas emissions in his State of the State address. He also issued an Executive Order that will create the first Low Carbon Fuel Standard for transportation fuels sold in the state. The Governor's commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions was also prevalent in Asm. Speaker Fabian Núñez's reaction to work on new legislation to help develop cleaner alternative fuels.

Although a fair share of greenhouse gas emissions come from fossil fuels, there still remains a large chunk that we can do now to reduce landfill gas emissions through diversion and recycling.
