Feb 15 - CIWMB Incorporates AB 32 Into Strategic Vision

The CIMWB adopted a series of Strategic Directives at their board meeting on February 13th. The board had not renewed its strategic directives (SD) since 2001. While we are encouraged by the board's decision to incorporate language referencing AB 32 and climate change, we continue to urge the board to create an SD specific to Climate Change. Board Member Wesley Chesbro expressed similar concerns and requested the climate change issue be revisited in the near future. Chair Brown advised the board that the strategic directives are a living document and assured board members and the public that the issue of climate change as well as other pressing issues would be considered in the context of the SD at upcoming Strategic Policy Committee meetings.
