Mar 12 - E-Waste Recycling Group Expands

Sims Recycling Solutions, the largest e-waste recycler world-wide has expanded by acquiring two North American based e-recyclers, United Recycling Industries (URI) and Noranda Recycling, Inc.

Based in Europe, Sims Recycling Solutions has a facility in Hayward, CA that recycles close to 200 million pounds of e-waste. This acquisition will allow the company to process e-waste more efficiently and into new products.

In Sims Group's Press Release, Chief Executive Jeremy Sutcliffe says,

"These two [URI and Noranda] well established businesses operate to the highest standards and fit perfectly with Sims’ global and growing Recycling Solutions Business. With our own Hayward facility in California, our operating capacity in North America is now nearly 200 million pounds. Over the last year, all three businesses were responsible for recycling a quarter of a million televisions and monitors and the equivalent weight of five and a half million desktop computers."
