Mar 22 - Al Gore asks Congress for Incandescent Phase-out

As part of his testimony before House and Senate panels, Al Gore called Wednesday for a Federal phase-out of incandescent bulbs, among other measures aimed at decreasing the release of greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere.

Gore pointed to Walmart's embrace of compact fluorescents and argued that if the federal government set the standards, American businesses would easily comply.
