Jun 6 - CA Assembly Passes Lighting Efficiency & Pollution Prevention Bill

The California State Assembly passed legislation today that would take a comprehensive approach to lighting efficiency.

AB 1109 by Assembly Member Jared Huffman would direct the CA Energy Commission to develop energy efficiency standards that would encourage the use of more efficient lighting technologies, reduce hazardous waste in lighting and increase recycling opportunities.

The bill passed the Assembly on a 44-23 vote and now heads to the State Senate.
