Jun 12 - Governor Appoints Recycling Advocate to Ocean Protection Council

Governor Schwarzenegger has appointed Susan Golding, former mayor and county supervisor for San Diego, to the California Ocean Protection Council. During her work in San Diego, Golding proved to be one of the state's leading advocates of waste reduction and recycling policies.

During its last meeting, the California Ocean Protection Council took up a strong resolution calling for the reduction of single use plastics in order to combat marine debris. Its next meeting takes place Thursday, June 14 in San Francisco.
