Jan 15 - Washington State Legislator Introduces Food Packaging, Plastic Bag Bills
Washington State legislator Maralyn Chase has introduced legislation in Olympia modelled after California's CAW-sponsored AB 904, which would require take-out food providers to use only recyclable or compostable food packaging. She has also introduced legislation that would prohibit the distribution of thin plastic bags.

Washington's food packaging bill, like California's AB 904, would also require take-out food providers to eventually only use packaging that is being recycled at a rate of at least 25%.
