Jan 17 - San Jose to Study Policy Solution to Plastic Bag Litter
The San Jose City Council directed city staff yesterday to study possible policy solutions to the growing problem of plastic bags. A memo, written by Council Member Kansen Chu and coauthored by Mayor Chuck Reed and Councilmember Nora Campos directed staff to study a ban or other solutions. CAW provided testimony at the hearing.

Staff will consider all policy options, including a ban or a plastic bag disposal rate benchmark system, such as the one to be voted on in Los Angeles County this Tuesday.
