Feb 9 - Best Way to Clean the Pacific's "Garbage Patch"? Reduce Plastics Consumption
Slate Magazine wrote an article today discussing the possible solutions for the problem of the Pacific Ocean's "Garbage Patch", a large collection of marine debris swept from the shore by strong currents into the North Pacific Gyre. The argument was to focus less attention on the costly work of cleaning up the current pile of plastic and instead push to prevent future waste from going out to sea by reducing consumption of plastic packaging.
