Feb 25 - Los Angeles Citizens Offered Rewards for Recycling

RecycleBank launched a recyling incentives pilot program in Los Angeles earlier this week that will affect 10% of the city's residents.

The program offers rewards to households that recycle, in an attempt to raise the current recycling rate in L.A. from 65% to 70% by 2013. Based on a point system given by how many pounds recycled per week, individual households receive rewards to be redeemed at local, regional, and national retailers.
