Jun 2 - AB 1998 (Brownley) Plastic Bag Ban Expected for an Assembly Floor Vote Today

Share

An Assembly Floor Vote is expected today on California legislation to Ban Single Use Plastic Grocery Bags.

The bill would also require 40% postconsumer content in paper bags and consumers would have to pay the actual cost.

With support from the Grocers Association, as well as the Governor's office, we are now closer than ever to phasing out plastic bags, a primary component of urban litter.

Two things you can do right now to help us pass AB 1998:

TAKE ACTION! Send an urgent support email to your Assembly Representative.

Vote in the KCRA poll.
