Oct 18 - Polystyrene Ordinances Adopted in More CA Cities
Foster City adopted its polystyrene food container ordinance yesterday at a second and final reading. It is modeled after San Mateo’s ordinance and goes into effect on April 1, 2012. Read more in an article here.
In other plastic pollution related news, the City of Capitola approved the first reading of an ordinance banning the sale of expanded polystyrene (aka Styrofoam) food containers and coolers in retail stores last week, and the City of San Leandro adopted an expanded polystyrene ordinance earlier this month.
