Nov 29 - Petition to Resurrect Grand Canyon Bottle Ban Gains Traction
An online petition to ban water bottles from the Grand Canyon National Park--created after it became known that Park officials may have reneged on a ban due to concerns from one of its funders, Coca Cola--has gathered over 90,000 signatures.

The park sells more than $400,000 worth of bottled water each year. In anticipation of the ban, which was stopped just weeks before implementation, the park spent $300,000 to install refilling water fountains for reusable water bottles.
A similar ban has been in place in Zion National Park since 2008.
