Dec 29 - Residents and Businesses Can Choose to End Phone Book Delivery
The Local Search Association (LSA) and the Association of Directory Publishers (ADP) are partnering with city and counties to remind residents that they can opt-out of receiving Yellow Pages. 
While this public outreach is a good step, the fact is many people do not use Yellow Pages anymore. The LSA is taking preemptive action against cities like San Francisco phone book opt-in ordinance. The phone book industry also spent significant amount of lobbying power to kill SB 920(Yee) the phone book opt-out bill in 2009.
As for White Pages, the phone book publishers themselves are requesting the public utilities to cease distribution such as with Verizon this year.
