Apr 17 - Santa Cruz Co Adopts All-Foam Ban
Earlier today the Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors formally adopted a ban on all foam (expanded polystyrene) products in stores. The County has banned foam food containers in restaurants since 2008. The ordinance goes into effect in six months on October 17, 2012.
The County is second after the City of Capitola to adopt such a stringent policy against foam products. Other cities are poised to follow. Congrats to the County for their environmental leadership.
