May 25 - Help Stop the Illinois Bill Prohibiting Local Bag Bans

Share

Illinois needs your help! Yesterday SB 3442, the horrible statewide proposal to prevent local governments from passing plastic bag bans, failed to pass by one vote.

But that vote has been pulled, and the House will reconsider the bill either today or tomorrow.

As you are reading this, industry lobbyists are working hard in the capital city of Springfield to get it passed.

Spread the word that this bill is a poorly disguised attempt to stop bag bans--in return, it only asks for a measly .1% increase in plastic bag recycling!

Take action and write to your IL representative now. There's no reason why SB 3442 should be passed--plastic bag recycling doesn't work.
