Sept 10 - Watsonville’s Plastic Bag Ban in Effect This Past Weekend

Last Friday was the first day of the Watsonville plastic bag ban.

Back in May, the Watsonville City Council took quick action against plastic bag pollution and passed an ordinance. Just four short months later, the ordinance is operative in all retail stores within city limits and includes a small charge on paper bags.

The City as well as several stores and groups participated in reusable bag giveaways to help ease the transition. Read more in the Watsonville Patch.
