Apr 15 - Tire, CRT Glass Recycling Bills in ANR Committee Today

Update: Both bills passed out of Assemby Natural Resources Committee with bipartisan support

Two bills focused on expanding the market for recycled materials (tires and CRT glass) will be heard in the Assembly Natural Resources Committee today at 1:30 p.m.

• AB 513 (Frazier) Tire Recycling Program - Direct CalRecycle to expand its successful Rubberized Asphalt Concrete (RAC) grant program to offer cities and counties increased funding for paving projects that use material derived from waste tires. This not only recycles the tires, it produces roads that are quieter, function better under wet and icy conditions, and last longer.

• AB 1022 (Eggman) CRT Glass Market Development - Provide market-based incentive to in-state recyclers and manufacturers to utilize CRT glass in products.
