AB 1534 (Irwin)

OVERVIEW:

AB 1534 would have required the California Air Resources Board to incorporate remote sensing technologies, such as satellites, airplane flyovers, and drones, into their landfill regulations.

THE ISSUE:

Incorporating state-of-the-art remote sensing technology for detecting landfill leaks would accelerate the identification and remediation of methane emissions.
