Jul 11 - ARB Scoping Plan Weak on Recycling

The ARB has released a draft of the AB 32 Scoping Plan, and we are very disappointed with the lack of strong recycling recommendations in the plan.

The Scoping Plan will serve as the blueprint for achieving the AB 32 greenhouse gas reductions and CAW, along with several other environmental organizations, has advocated for the inclusion of waste reduction, recycling, and composting. We believe the ARB should incorporate the recommendations of the Economic and Technology Advancement Advisory Committee, as well as taking other bold action to increase recycling and composting in California.

Jun 26 - CARB to Announce Draft AB 32 Scoping Plan

Scoping Plan

The California Air Resources Board is set to release a draft of its AB 32 Scoping Plan today. This document will serve as a guiding blueprint for how the state will reduce its greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 levels by the year 2020. We will post a description of the role of waste reduction and recycling in the Scoping Plan after we have had a opportunity to analyze the draft.

These are some of the measures we expect will be announced today.
