Teresa Bui has over 12 years of regulatory and policy experience in waste reduction policy.  She was appointed by California Governor Jerry Brown to serve as Special Advisor to the Director of the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle). At CalRecycle, she led the development of new recycling initiatives and improvements to existing programs to combat climate change, including helping implement the state’s Short-Lived Climate Pollutant Reduction Strategy. Prior to her tenure at CalRecycle, Teresa spent eight years as an advocate at Californians Against Waste, where she successfully advocated for the creation of new landmark recycling and waste reduction programs.

Teresa Bui is currently the Climate Policy Director at Pacific Environment, focusing on ship decarbonization and the zero-emission transition at ports.
